1. What exactly is Talk is Cheap?
Talk is Cheap is an evening “unconference” at Centennial College’s Centre for Creative Communications. The event kicks off with a brief networking session, followed by a series of 20-30 minute presentations about social media and online PR. These presentations cover a wide degree of topics from blogging to podcasting, communications strategies and round-table discussions on prevalent social media issues.
2.What is an “unconference”?
An unconference is a conference that features content created and presented by those in attendance. If you are a communications practitioner with social media experience, you are encouraged to pitch a topic on the Want to Present? page. If you have a topic you’d like to see presented by someone else, suggest it in the comments section or contact us directly!
3. What can I expect?
You will have a chance to take part in up to four sessions including our opening plenary session. Each session will provide practical knowledge and tips about social media topics of particular interest to you. With several sessions running in each time slot, you’ll have choices. Food and beverages will be available at the beginning of the evening and will remain open all evening to facilitate networking.
4. Is there a registration fee for Talk is Cheap?
Talk is Cheap is a free opportunity for communicators to explore and share developments in social media. Snacks and beverages will be available during the course of the event for your enjoyment.
If you would like to attend, please be sure to register early to reserve your spot.
